Thank you Carl, no single person influenced me onto the path of science than you. Thank you for showing the wonders of the universe, or cosmos as it may be. And thank you for showing me the beauty of new questions that come with every answer. You are sorely missed.

Carl, You were, and still are, a candle in the dark. You are down in history as one of the greatest men of the late 20th century. Saddest of all is that the world needs you now more than ever. We need your unflinching courage to keep the dark age at bay. We miss you so much.

I can only second the sentiments here and add what a wonderful thing it was to share some time on the planet with Dr. Sagan. He removed the scales from my eyes, if you will. He didn't just give me a fish, thereby feeding me for a day. He gave me a far greater gift: He taught me how to fish. I try to use the skills every day. I often wonder, as I read about the 'doings' on our world, what Dr. Sagan would have made of all this. Yes, he is deeply missed.

Most likely that is a photo-shopped pic, but still that guy showed a lot of love and passion for his craft. Always looked up to him as one of the most understandable but still definitely not boring astronomer and science guy of our time.
