Of course, what would be it without some politician acting butthurt over the whole thing,
I feel the Flying Spaghetti Monster is an effort on the part of non-Christians to try and minimize Christianity and the images that have been placed there. I'll go as far as to say that I think it's an attempt to minimize and ridicule the good intentions of Christians in Cumberland County...That's right... The FSM is out to minimize your monopoly.
He's coming for you....

I've never met a Christian who understood what the Flying Spaghetti Monster is.
It's a parody. It's the ultimate argumentum ad absurdum. Any ethyreal attribute attributable to God also applies to the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Any argument for God also applies to the FSM.
It's really funny using the Kalaam Cosmological Argument against Christians using the FSM and watching them look at me confused, as if it makes any less sense than when THEY use it.
...Actually, that should be reductio ad absurdum, but you knew that.
I first stumbled across FSM on wikipedia, the only thing that bothers me about it is that I didn't come up with it. One day I hope to sit down and share a beer with His Noodley Goodness.
That is hilarious. I would love to see the statue go up for auction on ebay after.
