"You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought."

I'm not an especially claustrophobic person, but seeing these pictures from the Soyuz TMA-11 mission which landed in April of last year make me never want to head to space (at least as long as the US is having to rely on the Russian vehicles for transport).

Seriously, how do 3 people fit in that thing?

It is quite unfortunate that NASA or a commercial/private corporation did not "evolve" the space shuttle into a more efficient, sleek, and profitable adventure.
That's why NASA's COT program and/or private/commercial ventures like FalconX, SpaceX, Bigelow, Virgin Galactic, etc., may get it done.
