It stands to reason that, if no one can see the evidence of evolution, then no one will be able to see through religion's smoke screen. Perhaps this is why the largest Christian church in Kenya is seeking to stop the display of the most complete homo erectus skeleton to date, as well as other artifacts including bones from Australopithecus anamensis, the first hominid to walk upright.
Intellectual honesty at its finest.

In religion, if the facts dont' fit the theory, throw out the facts."

I wouldn't be surprised if some religiously motivated person(s) tried to smash the "evil bones".
Here is an exerpt from the article you linked to: "Leaders of the country's six-million-strong Pentecostal congregation want Dr Richard Leakey's ground-breaking finds relegated to a back room instead of being given their usual prime billing."
In the post you stated that "...the largest Christian church in Kenya is seeking to stop the display of the most complete homo erectus skeleton to date, as well as other artifacts..."
I agree with you Jon, it is very important to be intellectually honest, but there appears to be a discrepancy. Was this church trying to "stop the display" or just have them moved to a "back room"?
I'm not defending the church leaders decision to "pressure" the museum to move the display, but do they have a valid point? I think you would agree that there should be room in public arenas for dissention, and that dissenters should be respected.
I can't say for sure, but to me "back room" is another way of saying "storage closet".
Again, can't be positive, but that was my interpretation.
I am sorry Jesse, that is just a red herring...in fact it is not even a fresh one. Dissenters need to be respected in terms of their right to dissent but if they have lame brain ideas that have absolutely no basis in scientific fact then those IDEAS do not have to be respected.
